Neck Trim
We are ready to do the neckline finishing.
Again, we are going to add a little creativity to the pattern. We are
going to use a base 1x1 rib and then add 8 rows of stockinet stitch to
create a rolled neck.
The first step is to get the neck stitches on a round needle.
You will need a 16" circular needle that is the same size as your bottom
rib needle.
Hold the sweater so the back is facing you. Remember we put the back neck
stitches on scrap yarn. Slip the 22 back neck stitches onto the circular
needle. Remove the scrap yarn.

You are now at the point where the left shoulder meets the back neck.
Pick up 11 stitches along the neck edge.
To pick up stitches on the neck edge, poke the needle into an edge
stitch, wrap the yarn as to knit, and pull through.

Space the 11 stitches evenly along the edge. Pick up 16 stitches from the
front neck where we bound off, pick up 11 stitches along other side neck
edge, knit across the back neck stitches.
Put a marker on the needle to mark the beginning of the round.

Work 3 rounds of K1, P1 ribbing.
On the next round and the 7 following rounds, knit all stitches.
When 8 knitted rounds have been complete, bind off on the next round.
Leave a 5" tail and snip the yarn.
Congratulations! The only thing left to do is to
weave in the ends and block the sweater. Can you believe it?
