Sweater Wizard V3: Export
Sweater Wizard Version 3 has a new Export Menu. In addition to Export to Word, the Sweater Wizard pattern can be exported to a rich text format file, and each of the schematics to bitmap files.

Since Corel Word Perfect has become very popular as OEM products on new computers, I decided that it was necessary to give users who do not own Microsoft Word another option.

.rtf Files will open in any word processor, including Word Pad which is included in the Windows OS.

Also, our Apple users, who are using Sweater Wizard with Virtual PC, will be able to open the final pattern file on the Apple side and never need to worry about Windows printer drivers.

Sweater Wizard patterns Export to MS Word 97, 2000, XP.

Once you have your pattern converted to a document, you can: change the paper size, send to your PDA, add Stitch & Motif Maker grids. You can also share your pattern with a friend via email. The friend does not need to own Sweater Wizard to view your pattern.

PDA

I love the ability to carry my Sweater Wizard pattern on my PDA. I own two PDAs, one with the Windows OS and the other Palm OS.

I started with the Windows based system because it was so easy to transfer my Word files, but since buying the Palm based system, I have to admit that I am a convert. The user interface is so much simpler.

On the Windows based system, I simply export my pattern to Word and transfer to the PDA.

On the Palm based system, I use the .rtf option. I can send the Word doc to Documents to Go, but it is so much simpler using the .rtf file. I can edit any changes I make while doing the actual knitting of the garment. I then send it back to my computer and save. I export the schematics separately and size them to look best on the Palm based PDA and send them to the photos section.

Whichever system I use, I no longer am searching for my paper pattern. I just love the convenience of it all.
